Michigan International Speedway will host the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series on June 7-8 next year with drivers battling it out in the Irish Hills.
The picturesque two-mile D-shaped track’s race weekend will move from August to June as it will help set the stage before NASCAR kicks off its first ever in-season tournament for the Cup Series, with fans experiencing some intense racing in the early summer days. Additionally, the fan-favorite CRAFTSMAN Truck Series returns to MIS for the first time since 2020.
“We’re already known for producing high-quality and exciting racing at over 200mph here at Michigan International Speedway, and now we get to add a bit more drama to our race weekend in 2025,” said Michigan International Speedway President Joe Fowler. “To win in the Irish Hills and just a short distance from Detroit already brings great pride to drivers and manufacturers alike, but there will be more on the line as we help set the seeding for the new in-season tournament.”
Earlier this year, NASCAR announced a new twist to next season’s races with an in-season, bracket-style tournament for the Cup Series. Michigan will be the first of three races used to set the seeding for the in-season tournament.
Below are the dates the 2025 NASCAR races at Michigan International Speedway:
- Saturday, June 7 – NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Race
- Sunday, June 8 – NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400
Earlier this month, 23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick won a dramatic race over William Byron and Ty Gibbs, pulling away in double overtime for the victory. The win was Reddick’s second of the season. The last time MIS hosted the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, Zane Smith (2022 CRAFTSMAN Truck Series champion) visited Victory Lane.
