An extra festive night of racing is on the horizon as Charlotte Motor Speedway prepares to celebrate its very own Lug Nut’s birthday with games, prizes and a fur-flying field of Charlotte’s favorite mascots competing for motorsports glory.
WHO: You and all your friends
WHAT: Lug Nut’s Birthday Bash
WHERE: America’s Home for Racing, Charlotte Motor Speedway
WHEN: Tuesday, June 18, Round 3 of Cook Out Summer Shootout
It’s Lug Nut’s party, and he’ll drive if he wants to! Fans of all ages are invited to burn rubber and candles at America’s Home for Racing on Tuesday, when Lug Nut will put the pedal to the metal in a roaring winner-take-all go-kart race against his closest mascot friends.
Victory will be no piece of cake as the world’s fastest mascot takes on a top-tier field of area mascot competitors, including the Charlotte Checkers’ Chubby, the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s Champ the Cheetah, UNC Charlotte’s Norm the Niner and Charlotte FC’s Sir Minty. After the race, the mascots will be roaming the grandstands and taking center stage alongside Lug Nut to participate in family-friendly party games with fans on hand for Lug Nut’s birthday celebration.
Fans who bring a new toy donation for Lug Nut will get FREE admission to the birthday bash. Those who bring a canned food donation will get $2 off entry at the gate!
DRIVERS TO WATCH:
The mascots won’t be the only ones revved up for a big night on Tuesday. In the U.S. Legend Cars Pro division, California native Jake Bollman has made his goal for the summer clear – win all 10 races. After doubling down and boasting back-to-back wins in the first two rounds of the competition, he’ll look to keep the streak alive heading into Round 3.
Bandit national points leader Wyatt Coffey also swept this week’s Monday-Tuesday Cook Out Summer Shootout doubleheader, and hopes to keep the momentum in his favor through Round 3 and deep into the summer heat. With 100 INEX points on the line, the 11-year-old will take the famed quarter-mile of Charlotte Motor Speedway in search of his third victory Tuesday.
