Rev Theory to headline August Budweiser Acceleration Concert

Race fans will be able to rock the house during the Pure Michigan 400 race weekend at Michigan International Speedway, as the popular rock band Rev Theory is slated to headline the Budweiser Acceleration Concert.

Rev Theory and four other bands will perform at the speedway’s Budweiser Acceleration Concert following the conclusion of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series VFW 200 on Saturday, August 20.

The popular Saturday night concert in Lot 10 has always been a crowd staple and fan favorite at MIS for nearly a decade. Rev Theory follows a long list of spectacular concerts that have been held at MIS including Sugarland, Montgomery Gentry, 3 Doors Down, Saving Abel and Sick Puppies.

Rev Theory will be out promoting its latest album “Justice” which hit stores earlier this year with the leadoff title track single, “Justice” quickly climbing the active rock radio charts. Justice is Rev Theory’s follow up to their successful 2008 Interscope Records release, Light It Up.

“Rev Theory puts on an awesome show and we’re excited to bring them to the speedway on August 20 for our fans,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “The post-race concerts have been a long-standing tradition here at MIS and Rev Theory will continue that trend by bringing some great rock music to the Irish Hills.”

Fans will also be able to take in the sights and sounds of four other energetic rock bands prior to Rev Theory taking the stage. The show will kick off with State Your Cause taking the stage approximately 30 minutes after the checkered flag of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series VFW 200. The Last Good Year and Nova will then follow with MIS regular, Sore Eyes, wrapping up the opening acts.

Sponsoring the post-race concert is Budweiser, title sponsor of Budweiser Acceleration, MIS’ all inclusive fan hospitality club.  Fan hospitality packages for the Budweiser Acceleration Club are still available for the race weekend by calling 800-354-1010 or visiting MISpeedway.com.

“We’re thrilled to continue our strong partnership with MIS by sponsoring the Budweiser Acceleration Club and post-race concert,” Mark Bennett, retail sales director for Anheuser-Busch Inc. said. “Budweiser has always enjoyed a great history of working with popular concert acts and venues and the post-race concert at MIS is no different. The concert is always a great opportunity to extend the branding of our Budweiser Acceleration Club at the track and retail.”

The post-race concert will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Camping World Truck Series VFW 200.
