The world-renowned Grammy Award-winning Texas Boys Choir will perform the national anthem just minutes prior to the waving of the green flag to start the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on April 14.
The 40-young-man-strong choral group, organized in 1946 and based in Fort Worth since 1957, will sing The Star-Spangled Banner directly in front of the Machinery Auctioneers Pre-Race Stage on the grassy ballfield area near the speedway’s start/finish line. The national anthem performance will air across the country as part of FS1’s pre-race festivities.
“Texas Boys Choir is thrilled to sing the national anthem for NASCAR’s Triple-Header Weekend at Texas Motor Speedway on April 14,” said Texas Boys Choir Artistic Director Todd Prickett. “These young men aged 10-18 have been ‘setting the pace’ for boy choirs across the country for the last 78 years. We can’t wait to celebrate this timeless racing tradition with the amazing fans.”
The mission of the Texas Boys Choir is to develop personal excellence & inspire a lifelong passion for music and choral artistry. The world-class boys’ choir, open to young men in grades 3-12 from any socio-economic or ethnic background, is an educational and performance institution that provides a structured environment to learn the fundamentals of elite vocal performance.
“Texas Motor Speedway is honored to host the Texas Boys Choir for their performance of the national anthem prior to the start of the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400,” said Texas Motor Speedway Executive Vice President & General Manager Mark Faber. “The Texas Boys Choir has been the pride of Fort Worth and North Texas for nearly 80 years and we are privileged to have them perform in front of our great NASCAR fanbase.”
