Richmond Hosting Car Wash & Ride Around the Track for Fans

Richmond International Raceway is bringing new meaning to the phrase “splash and go” on Wednesday, June 1. Teaming with Junior Achievement of Central Virginia, the track is hosting a NASCAR Foundation Car Wash for Kids fundraiser from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

For a $15 donation, fans receive a car wash on pit road, two paced laps around Richmond International Raceway to dry off their vehicles and a NASCAR Unites wristband. Donations will be distributed among Junior Achievement of Central Virginia, Richmond International Raceway CARES—the track’s charitable account and The NASCAR Foundation, which is committed to children’s causes and, through its NASCAR Unites campaign, has vowed to raise $1 million and generate one million volunteer hours this year.

Richmond International Raceway’s event is an extension of the NASCAR Day Car Wash for Kids, a NASCAR Unites national fundraiser engaging motorsports industry leaders to support children’s charities. More than 20 locations participated last Friday in the NASCAR Day Car Wash for Kids.

Fans who would like to have their cars washed may enter the property at the Main Gate of Richmond International Raceway, located at 600 E. Laburnum Ave. (at the corner of Laburnum Ave. and Richmond-Henrico Tnpk.). Drivers will be directed to the infield, where the wash is being held on pit road.

Cash, credit and checks made out to The NASCAR Foundation will be accepted. Cars and motorcycles are allowed; sorry, no buses or RVs. Vehicles must have a valid and current state inspection to participate in the lap around the track.
