Jimmie Johnson to participate in free question-and-answer session before Sept. 30 race in Dover
As part of the ever-growing list of fan activities for the Sept. 28-30, 2012 race weekend at Dover International Speedway, Jimmie Johnson will now be participating in a free question-and-answer session on the Monster Monument, at 11:15 a.m. prior to the Sept. 30 “AAA 400” NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.
The Q&A is part of a growing tradition at the Monster Mile to host the most recent race winner on the Monster Monument for fans. It is free for all ticket holders to the Sept. 28-30, 2012 race weekend.
Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, has been dominant throughout his career at Dover. By winning the June 3 “FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks” NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, he tied both Richard Petty and Bobby Allison on the all-time wins list at the Monster Mile with seven. Nemco Motorsports announced today that Genny Light beer will be featured on the hood of Joe Nemechek’s No. 87 Toyota Camry for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Finger Lakes 335 at The Glen on Sunday, August 12.

Daytona International Speedway’s UNOH Battle At The Beach announcer search has been narrowed to five finalists. Now race fans have the chance to select their favorite local NASCAR Home Track public address announcer to join the announcing team for the inaugural event on Feb. 18-19.

Lawless pre-race concert features award-winning Jamey Johnson
Grammy Award nominated country music artist Jamey Johnson will perform Aug. 25 at the Lawless Pre-Race Concert prior to the start of the IRWIN Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
This will be the first trip to BMS for the award-winning singer/songwriter, who is set to release his latest album, “Livin’ For A Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran” Oct. 16.
Johnson’s first three albums featured hits such as “The Dollar,” “In Color” and “The High Cost Of Living.” In addition to writing most of his own material, Johnson has co-written singles for Trace Adkins, George Strait, Joe Nichols and Jessie James.
On “Living For A Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran,” Johnson teams up with Willie Nelson to sing “Don’t You Ever Get Tired Of Hurting Me,” and the duo is joined by Leon Russell and Vince Gill on “Everything But You.” Other songs include “Living for a Song,” with Johnson, Nelson Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson and Patsy Cline’s hit “I Fall To Pieces,” with Johnson and Haggard.
“Lawless,” billed as a “Western crime film”, set in Virginia’s Franklin County, stars Shia LaBeouf and will be released at the end of August.

Pocono Raceway Lightning Strike Update
A total of 10 race fans were struck by lightning in the Pocono Raceway parking lot after the conclusion of Sunday’s Pennsylvania 400. All were transported to local hospitals with various degrees of injuries. Nine have been released.
The tenth victim, Brian Zimmerman, was fatally injured during the storm. Private funeral services will be held on Saturday. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 5:00PM - 8:00PM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, PA.
