UNOH Donates $5,000 to the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma

The Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma received a $5,000 donation from the University of Northwestern Ohio for their racing charities campaign. The check was presented to Richard Childress during the NASCAR race weekend at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.

“Life-threatening injuries kill more children in America than all other causes combined,” said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing and co-founder of the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma. “We take for granted that the best emergency care for our children is always available, but that is not the case. Critically-injured patients treated in a certified trauma center have a 25 percent increased rate of survival. The Childress Institute is grateful to Dr. Jarvis, Steve Farmer and everyone at UNOH for supporting our mission of saving the lives of injured children.”

“The students, faculty, and staff of the University of Northwestern Ohio are honored to support this important cause,” said Dr. Jeffrey A. Jarvis, President of UNOH. “There is nothing more important than saving the lives of injured children.”
