Coulter Motorsports and Ricky Ehrgott are Locked and Loaded for 2013 ARCA Racing Series Season Opener at Daytona

Coulter Motorsports officials are pleased to announce that former USAC Racing standout Ricky Ehrgott will pilot their recognizable No. 16 Chevrolet Impala SS during this week’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season opener at Daytona International Speedway.

Ehrgott, fresh off of a successful test session at the 2.5-mile facility in early December, began his transition from the open wheel circuit to stock cars in mid-2012 after winning the prestigious Blue Collar Driver Challenge. After competing in ARCA events at Berlin Raceway and Kansas Speedway, Ehrgott saw the opportunity to team up with Coulter Motorsports as the next viable step in his young career’s progression.

“Coulter Motorsports is honored to add Ricky (Ehrgott) to the long standing list of talented racecar drivers who have utilized our driver development program to help further their career goals,” said Coulter Motorsports owner Joe Coulter. “Ricky has proven himself both on and off the track and his versatility and adaptability give him a unique advantage over his competitors. We look forward to a successful relationship with Ricky.”

Leading the team into the 2013 season is a familiar face in veteran crew chief Jon Wolfe. Wolfe, who joined the team in mid-2011, has a strong repertoire in the racing community, including the 2010 ARCA Racing Series championship. He also worked closely with Ehrgott during the open test session December 14-16, 2012, where Ehrgott and crew posted the second fastest time Sunday afternoon at 49.609 seconds and 181.419 mph.

Joining Ehrgott and the quest for the checkered flag is longtime sponsor and supporter Rev1 Power Services.

Rev1 Power Services currently provides engineering and technical workforce solutions to all segments of the energy industry, including transmission and distribution, generation, nuclear, refinery, oil and gas, and solar. The company brings decades of collective experience in power generation to assist client needs with teams who have worked the full spectrum of energy projects, from initial development and planning to final turnover and project management services.

Ehrgott, who recently graduated from Fordham University in New York City with a degree in economics, has also forged a partnership with globally recognized Sandvik Coromant.

Sandvik Coromant is the world’s leading supplier of tools, tooling solutions, and know-how to the metalworking industry. “Joining forces with such an established and recognized team as Coulter Motorsports is an honor for me,” commented Ehrgott. “I have worked hard my entire life to make a career out of racing and I feel this next step in my progression is a natural fit. I am looking forward to running at Daytona and working closely with Jon (Wolfe) and all of the crew while we set our sights on a good finish.”
