Akinori Ogata, No 49 Eneos Motor Oil Iowa Preview

Akinori Ogata returns to the seat of the ENEOS Motor Oil No. 49 Toyota this Friday night at Iowa Speedway.  The Pork Be Inspired 150 will mark Akinori’s third start for MacDonald Motorsports this season and will take the green flag Friday, August 3rd at 8PM EST.

Akinori will be driving the same ENEOS Motor Oil No. 49 Toyota that he raced previsously this season at Langley Speedway.  Iowa will be the first time Ogata has raced his K&N Pro Series car on a track larger than ½ mile.

“I’m really excited to get back in the ENEOS Motor Oil No. 49 for MacDonald Motorsports this Friday night at Iowa,” explained Ogata.  “Iowa is a much faster track than I have been on before in the K&N car so it will be a new challenge for me.  I really have to thank ENEOS Motor Oil for getting behind me and MacDonald Motorsports for the opportunity to drive their racecar.”

Earlier this season, Akinori made his first starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series at Gresham Motorsports Park and Langley Speedway, finishing 15th and 20th respecitvely.  Now with a lot more laps under his belt, Ogata and his MacDonald Motorsports team will be looking to improve on those finishes this weekend in Iowa.

“It has been great working with Akinori over the last few months,” stated car owner, Jeni MacDonald.  “He is a great guy and really fun to be around.  It’s been very nice working with ENEOS as well.  They are great people and I hope we can put on a good race for them this Friday night.”

The Pork Be Inspired 150 from Iowa Speedway will take the green flag this Friday, August 3rd, at approximately 8PM EST.  Fans in the area for the Nationwide race on Saturday night should definitely get out to the track on Friday as well to cheer on Akinori and the ENEOS Motor Oil No. 49 Toyota team.
