Austin Hill to make NASCAR K&N Pro debut at Columbus Motor Speedway for MacDonald Motorsports

18 year old Austin Hill is set to make his first ever start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series this weekend at Columbus Motor Speedway.  Hill, a very successful legends racer, will be behind the wheel of the A&D Welding/Overnight Wraps No. 49 Toyota this Saturday night in the JEGS 150.

“I’m really looking forward to driving the MacDonald Motorsports No. 49 K&N Pro Series car,” explained Austin.  “Getting the feel for a NASCAR sanctioned race is definitely going to be a big thrill.  I’m excited about getting behind the wheel of a K&N Pro Series car for the first time.”

Austin Hill, from Winston, Georgia, is a very experienced legends racer with multiple track championships and wins.  He is the 2008 Legends Semi-Pro Summer Shootout Champion and the 2009 Legends Pro Champion at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  In recent years, Hill has competed in a number of late model races across the South East, including the prestigious World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park.

Maybe Hill’s biggest moment came just last month, racing in the Legends Big Money 100 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.  Austin qualified on the outside of the front row and ran an excellent race, finishing second against one of the toughest fields in legends racing history.

The MacDonald Motorsports No. 49 is coming off a strong run last weekend at CNB Bank Raceway Park, where Harrison Rhodes drove to a solid 8th place finish.   This moved the No. 49 to 12th in the 2012 K&N Pro Series owner standings.

“Our car has been getting better and better over the past few races,” said Jeni MacDonald, team owner.  “I’m really glad we can give Austin his first start in the K&N Pro Series.  I think he’s really going to impress some people.”

The JEGS 150 will take the green at approximately 8PM EST this Saturday from Columbus Motor Speedway.  If you are in the area, come out to the track and watch young Austin Hill make his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series start against some of the biggest names in racing.
