Roa parks the #91R – driving Tanner Gray’s #34 in Arizona Saturday

USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series point leader Brody Roa announced today that the team’s famous bright green #91R will be parked for the remainder of the 2019 season effective immediately.  While the car is being parked, Roa is not.  First off, he will be in Tanner Grau’s #34 this Saturday night when the Southwest Series resumes at Canyon Speedway Park.

“The BR Performance Team held a meeting and has decided to park the #91R for the remainder of 2019,” Roa’s father Brett said on Tuesday afternoon.  “This sport is more expensive than the general public can imagine.  From the incredible amount of assistance that HD Industries provides to the little bit that Grandpa Roa can give from his Social Security Check, every sponsor is cherished.  With that said, we would like to thank: HD Industries, Burris Racing, “Biker” Bruce Fisher, Sander Engineering, Molecule, K-1 Race Gear, Norma Leonard, Lee Leonard, The Golden-Vibe Boutique, NGK Spark Plugs, Baldwin Filters, Driven Racing Oil, Wilwood Brakes, and Coffman Racing Graphics.”

The change comes with Roa, 28, leading the Southwest Series by 36-points heading into the final eight races of the season.  Saturday’s race will be the fifth at the Peoria track for the Southwest Series in 2019.  In the first four, the Garden Grove, California veteran has a win, two-second place finishes and a third.

Saturday’s race will be the first Southwest Series race since a jointly sanctioned show with the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars at Perris Auto Speedway on August 17th.  In that event, Roa finished third.  All told in the first 10-races in the Southwest Series this year, he has one win, four runner-up finishes and three third-place finishes.  He has only finished out of the top three two times.

Fans of Roa in the USAC/CRA Series need not fret as the veteran driver, who is currently third in that division, has a couple irons in the fire and plans to be at the next race at Perris Auto Speedway on September 21st.  Details will be released as soon as everything is in place.

Car owners, if you are looking for someone to shoe your car during the 2019 season, look at Roa’s schedule below.  He is available to race on any night not already on his racing calendar.  Contact him at the phone number and E-mail address in this release.
