NWMT: Doug Coby Claims Stafford 150 Pole

Doug Coby will start on the pole for Friday’s Stafford 150 at Stafford Speedway in Connecticut. Coby won the top starting spot by posting an 18.382 / 97.922 mph. in NASCAR’s group qualifying format.

Coby goes into the evening looking to earn his fourth win of the season in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. The driver from Connecticut has six top five and nine top 10 finishes heading into the 10th event of the season.

Back in the month of May at Stafford, Coby led 20 of the 200 laps to score his 12th NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win at the half-mile paved oval.

Justin Bonsignore earned the second-starting spot in his No. 51 Chevrolet. Bonsignore posted an 18.412 / 97.762 mph. in qualifying to earn his seventh top-five start of the 2019 season.

The driver from New York enters Stafford with four top five and six top 10 finishes.

Jon McKennedy will round out the top three starters in Friday’s event. McKennedy enters the evening sitting 22nd in points with two top five finishes.

Chris Pasteryak and Patrick Emerling will round out the top five starters.

Ron Silk, Chase Dowling, Bobby Santos III, Matt Swanson and Rob Summers rounded out the top 10.

The Stafford 150 will air live on FansChoiceTV at 9:15 p.m. ET.
