Defending ARCA Menards Series Champion Sheldon Creed to be Inducted into International Motorsports Hall of Fame ARCA Wall of Champions

Sheldon Creed, the 2018 ARCA Menards Series champion, will be inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame’s ARCA Wall of Champions on Thursday, April 25. Creed, who won four times on his way to the title, currently drives for GMS Racing’s NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series team. He has also maintained his presence in Robby Gordon’s Stadium Super Truck Series, where he won both halves of a doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway.

The induction ceremony at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame will kick off the ARCA Menards Series General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway scheduled for the following day, Friday, April 26. It will be the opening race of a three-race weekend that features the NASCAR XFINITY Series and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series that will open the famed track’s 50th Anniversary Season.

The Alpine, California native has made 37 career ARCA Menards Series starts. He earned his first career series win at Michigan International Speedway in June, and followed it with wins at Gateway Motorsports Park, Iowa Speedway, and the season finale at Kansas Speedway to put an exclamation point on his championship season. Creed has 21 career top-five finishes and 27 career top-ten finishes.

Additionally, Creed scored a win in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West’s inaugural appearance on a dirt track when he took the checkered flag at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“It’s definitely a huge honor to be added to the ARCA Wall of Champions and join NASCAR stars like Chris Buescher, Ty Dillon, Justin Allgaier, and Chase Briscoe, along with ARCA legends such as Frank Kimmel, Tim Steele, Bob Keselowski and many others,” Creed said. “The 2018 ARCA Menards Series championship was my first one in stock cars and will always be special to me. Coming from an off-road racing background, when I decided to pursue a career in stock car racing, we did a lot of homework and decided that ARCA was the perfect training ground for me, and it was.”

Creed is still paying attention to what’s going on in the ARCA Menards Series. He also plans on competing in at least one series race this season, if not more. Currently, he has the General Tire 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway inked onto his calendar. But even if he doesn’t come back and do a lot of racing in the ARCA Menards Series, he will always appreciate the experience and memories he made on his march to the title.

“I hope to have a long career in NASCAR but I will always remember and appreciate my experience in the ARCA Menards Series,” he said. “And will look forward to seeing who joins the ARCA Wall of Champions next!”
