NWES and Circuit Ricardo Tormo sign five-year extension

Last weekend, in occasion of the 2019 Euro NASCAR season opener, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and the Circuit Ricardo Tormo signed a five-year contract extension that will bring the European NASCAR Series to Valencia, Spain until at least 2024.

This agreement with Circuit Ricardo Tormo is the latest of a series of contract extensions giving Euro NASCAR a unique long-term stability among European racing series. The partnerships with Brands Hatch – home of the hugely popular American SpeedFest – Zolder and Hockenheim were all prolonged and NWES extended its contract with main sponsor Whelen Engineering through 2024. New official tyre supplier General Tire is also signed  through 2024.

“This is a great piece of news and such a natural fit! Circuit Ricardo Tormo is an amazing facility which provides a wonderful experience to race fans and a fantastic playground to our competitors,” said NWES President CEO Jerome Galpin. “The organization crew is extremely professional and it’s a true pleasure to work with them. Year after year the NASCAR GP Spain never stops to get bigger and better and we will all work to continue this way!”

The Valencia NASCAR Fest at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo has been the opening round of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series since 2014 and the event has steadily gained plenty of popularity among Spanish fans in its six editions.

“The event never ceased to improve and the organization made it grow with an increasing media coverage, technical parity, better teams and drivers… they just became the perfect partner and we want to have them at the Circuit for a long time,” said Gonzalo Gobert, General Manager of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, who considers NASCAR as an “international benchmark in motorsports.”

An event with a unique American-themed atmosphere and an unmatch level of access for the fans, last weekend’s edition of the Valencia NASCAR Fest delighted thousands of Spanish enthusiasts with the debut of two much appreciated grid walks and a Victory Lane celebrated in the paddock among the fans.
