FOX Sports Announces Broadcast Team for ARCA Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire at Daytona

FOX Sports has announced its talent lineup for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Lucas Oil 200 driven by Menards at Daytona International Speedway.

Veteran motorsports broadcaster Dave Rieff will anchor the Daytona broadcast alongside long-time ARCA color analyst Phil Parsons. They will be joined on pit road by Dillon Welch and, for the first time, Kim Coon.

Rieff comes to the ARCA broadcasts after spending several years calling NHRA action for FOX Sports. Rieff had spent 12 years working the pits for NHRA broadcasts for ESPN before transitioning into the play-by-play role in 2013. He made the move to FOX Sports when the network acquired the NHRA rights in 2017.

“While the last three decades have included plenty of dirt roads, straight lines and the occasional oval, I am beyond thrilled to be a part of the ARCA Racing Series in 2019,” Rieff said. “The mix of young guns and savvy veterans, the complete change in racing philosophy to drag racing and the opportunity to share a microphone with Phil Parsons are just a few ‘drops’ in the bucket of excitement that I am trying to contain.

“Challenge?  Sure.  But one I look forward to beginning at Daytona in just a few days.”

Parsons is an accomplished driver, having scored wins in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series along with a win in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. He is the younger brother of 1968 and 1969 series champion Benny Parsons and has been part of ARCA telecasts since 2003.

Welch, son of fellow FOX Sports broadcaster Vince Welch, worked pit road for the Daytona race in 2018. He also has called turn action for MRN Radio and worked pit road for select NASCAR broadcasts on NBCSN. He also continues to compete in a limited number of open wheel midget races throughout the course of each year, most recently in the famed Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.

Coon, who served as Miss Sprint Cup for four years, will be making her FOX Sports debut with the ARCA broadcast at Daytona. She has served in a number of roles for MRN Radio since 2015, including as a pit reporter, ISM Vision reporter, and social media reporter. She currently co-hosts the popular “Glass Case of Emotion” podcast with Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Blaney.

“I can’t wait to join the team for coverage of the ARCA Racing Series,” Coon said. “Some of racing’s most well-known drivers have cut their teeth here, and I am excited to help showcase the current crop of talent. My work at MRN has helped prepare me for this, and I look forward to this opportunity.”
