County Waste Steps Up To Sponsor Mullins Racing At Daytona

 

If Mullins, 38, is able to improve his 2018 finish in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire by one position, he’ll end the night celebrating in victory lane.

 

Last year at Daytona International Speedway Mullins avoided multiple late-race crashes and ended the evening second behind race winner Michael Self. The finish, a career-best in 13 ARCA starts for the Fredericksburg, Va., native, has made Mullins more motivated than ever.

 

“We’re very motivated. We’re always there to do better and try to succeed and this year is no different. We’re just trying to get one spot better,” said Mullins. “We added Tony Furr recently as our crew chief and he brings just a little bit more knowledge. Andy Belmont, our crew chief last year, did good to help us get where we are and Tony is helping us get to the next step and hopefully getting that last missing piece to get one more sport on Saturday at Daytona.”

 

This year at Daytona Mullins’ No. 3 Ford will carry primary sponsorship from County Waste, a company that provides communities with a full line of trash, recycling and construction and demolition removal services. County Waste currently services more than 200,000 residential customers each week through homeowner associations and individual subscription services.

“County Waste is a very large partner in our day-to-day operations at Bugsy’s Auto Repair,” said Mullins, who owns and operates Bugsy’s Auto Repair in Virginia when he’s not at the race track. “Them stepping up to give us a hand and allow us to be able to fund this Daytona adventure and be able to hopefully get this thing to the front means a lot. It means a lot to have someone you work with every day step up and support you even more.”

 

Also returning as a major sponsor of Mullins and Mullins Racing will be Crow Wing Recycling. Crow Wing Recycling is a family-owned business that buys, processes and sells scrap metals— ferrous and nonferrous — from automobiles, trucks, appliances, machines that are generated by industry through construction or deconstruction of facilities.

“It’s great to have Crow Wing Recycling back,” Mullins said. “We’re happy to continue working with them. Their business is growing so we’re trying to give them a national stage to show off. Another one of our partners, CW Metals, is their sister company too, so it’s been great for both of us to have this long term partnership.”

 

Mullins, who will be making his fourth start at Daytona, said he’ll be happy just to roll his car back on the trailer in one piece after the race. That said, he knows this could also be his year to stand in victory lane at ‘The World Center of Racing.’

 

“Every year we go in there optimistic and we just want to have a car that rolls back on the trailer,” said Mullins. “That’s our main objective and that’s how we feel every year. Whether or not this is the year, any year could be the year. It’s just how the racing luck plays out.”

 

Practice for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire begins on Thursday, Feb. 7 and runs from 4 to 6 p.m. EST. Final practice is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 8 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. EST, with General Tire Pole Qualifying scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EST. The green flag for the Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire is scheduled to wave over the field at 4:45 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 9.
