Raycom Sports Announces Joint Venture with Legacy Motorsports Events

Raycom Sports and Legacy Motorsports Events are partnering on a new joint venture called Raycom-Legacy Content Company to create large-scale live entertainment touring properties and related commercial opportunities.

Raycom Sports is a leading independent sports marketing, event management and production firm. Since 1982, Raycom Sports has managed live broadcasting, original programming, archival footage, marketing, mobile applications, social media and digital for sports properties.

Legacy Motorsports Events was co-founded by entertainment and motorsports executives Ken Hudgens, Tim Murray, Eric Cole and Bob Boggess. Collectively they possess more than a century of experience in large-scale event operation, promotion, sponsorship sales, television production, licensing, media and public relations.

“We are thrilled to partner with Raycom Sports and believe their organizational structure and expertise in content development and distribution will be invaluable combined with our team’s experience in the live entertainment space,” said Ken Hudgens, President & CEO of Raycom-Legacy Content Company. “We are excited to explore our next steps and look forward to future announcements.”

Raycom-Legacy Content Company will create live sports and entertainment events to own and grow. The partnership will extend beyond live events to include digital and linear content production and distribution, as well as other commercial extensions. The company will also look to license new tours with existing entertainment properties.

“The Legacy team builds huge, fun live events that audiences love and partners prioritize,” said Hunter Nickell, CEO of Raycom Sports. “We have a tenacious, motivated team that knows how to create, market and distribute content. It’s a great combination.”

Raycom-Legacy Content Company will be based in Charlotte, N.C.
