Erik Jones and Daniel Suárez Join DGR-Crosley for K&N West Race in Sonoma

NASCAR Cup Series drivers Erik Jones and Daniel Suárez are set to join DGR-Crosley this weekend at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway to compete in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West (NKNPSW) competition.

Jones, who will be piloting the No. 20 DEWALT Toyota Camry, has one previous Cup Series start at Sonoma Raceway. His lone start occurred last year during his rookie season where he went on to score a 25th-place finish. While the 22-year-old Joe Gibbs Racing driver has an extensive racing background, this weekend will mark Jones’ first start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series.

Suárez, driver of the No. 54 ARRIS Toyota Camry, has two previous starts at the 1.99-mile road course in Sonoma. Both of his starts occurred last year when he ran double duty between the NKNPSW and Cup Series race where he went on to earn 11thand 16th-place finishes respectively.  The 26-year-old Monterrey, Mexico, native has 47 NASCAR K&N Pro Series starts under his belt. In these starts, he’s been victorious three times and collected 13 top-five finishes.

Jones on Sonoma: “I’m looking forward to making my first K&N Pro Series start this weekend in Sonoma. I don’t have a lot of road course experience, so I’m thankful that DEWALT, Joe Gibbs Racing and DGR-Crosley partnered together to allow me to get some laps under my belt before the Cup race on Sunday. I know I’ll have a solid piece under me, and I’m looking forward to learning a lot and having some fun in the DEWALT Toyota Camry on Saturday.”

Suárez on Sonoma:”Running the K&N West race is something I feel is very important to help me on the Cup side. I’ll spend some time in the simulator before we head to Sonoma, but nothing can beat the extra track time in an actual car racing around other guys. This is only my second trip to Sonoma racing in any series, so there’s still a lot to learn and I’m thankful Joe Gibbs Racing and DGR-Crosley were able to put this together for me to get more seat time and hopefully race for the win with the ARRIS Toyota Camry.”
