Eighteen-year old female driver, Toni Breidinger will suit up for Venturini Motorsports (VMS) making her long awaited ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut on Friday, June 15 for the running of the Herr’s Potato Chip 200 at Madison International Speedway.
A native of northern California, Breidinger comes from the world of open-wheel racing and is USAC’s (United States Auto Club) all-time winningest female driver with 14 pavement victories.
Breidninger will drive VMS’s No.55 Renton Coil Spring – Flexzilla Toyota Camry for her first series attempt at Madison’s half-mile track.
“I’m definitely excited for my first start,” said Breidinger. “I’m a little anxious – this is such a big deal for me. I’ve been waiting a long time for this. I would be very happy with a solid top-10 finish and bring the car back in one piece. This is how I want to make my living so I’m very serious about the whole thing.”
“It doesn’t get much better than driving for Venturini Motorsports. The team has obviously had a lot of success over the years and a strong track record bringing up new drivers. I’ve spent some time at the track getting familiar with everyone and learning as much as I can. Now it’s time for me to put it all to use on the track.”
“These cars do not get any more opposite than the open wheel cars I’m familiar racing. I tested an ARCA car last year at Motor Mile Speedway. There’s going to be a pretty big learning curve, obviously. I’m watching video and taking advice from my Venturini Motorsports teammates. I’m trying to gather as much knowledge as possible to prepare myself,” added Breidinger.
Breidinger, who signed on with VMS earlier in the year will compete in three ARCA series events starting at Madison. She’ll also join the team at Gateway Motorsports Park on June 22 and Chicagoland Speedway on June 28.
Briedinger began her career behind the wheel of a go-kart at the age of 9 before she moved into the USAC Midget ranks. In 2014 and 2015 she placed 2nd overall in USAC’s Speed 2 Western U.S. Pavement Midget Series driver standings. She went on to claim the 2016 Speed 2 Western U.S. Pavement Midget Series championship.
In addition to racing an abbreviated ARCA schedule, Breidinger will compete with her family run team, Breindinger Motorsports, in the full six-race USAC Silver Crown Sprint Car pavement series schedule.
