Colby Howard Set to Race Under the Lights at the Madison International Speedway with Mason Mitchell Motorsports

After a successful ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut in April at Salem Speedway, Colby Howard will return to drive the No. 78 Champion Power Equipment/ Howard Family Foundation Chevrolet for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) at Madison International Speedway (MIS) this Friday evening in the Herr’s Potato Chips 200. The 16-year-old finished an impressive eighth in his ARCA debut driving for the championship team.

“The biggest takeaway from my debut at Salem was how fast the race pace is,” Howard stated. “I think I was a little too conservative throughout the race because I’m not used to having six tires in the pits. I’ll definitely be working on that more when practice at Madison starts.”

“Having a race under my belt and having experience with the team is really going to help me get up to speed quicker at Madison. Crew chief Mark Setzer and I are more comfortable working together after our race at Salem. If we can stay out of trouble and complete all 200-laps, we should be able to earn a top-five finish. That’s my overall goal for Friday evening.”

Howard is a third-generation driver. His grandfather Buddy and his father Rodney achieved great success running on the short tracks in the Southeast. In fact, his father made 33 career starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series from 1983-1986.

The Herr’s Potato Chips 200 from Madison International Speedway will air live on MAV TV Friday, June 15th beginning at 9:00 pm ET. Arcaracing.com will have live timing and scoring for all on-track activities throughout the day.
