15-year old Chandler Smith will dial it up again on the short track looking for his first ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards victory in his return to the driver’s seat Friday, June 15 during the Herr’s Potato Chips 200 at Madison International Speedway.
Smith, a rookie, will make his fourth series start driving the No.15 Craftsman Toyota Camry.
Since making his ARCA debut back in April driving for Venturini Motorsports, Smith has set a torrid pace in limited action. During his first three-career series starts the talented Talking Rock, GA teen has etched his name into the record books earning the General Tire Pole Award in as many consecutive starts (Nashville, Salem and Toledo).
Topping all series drivers, Smith has led an impressive 265-laps despite only competing in three of ARCA’s first eight events on the season. With a pair of top-5 finishes and a 10th place finish after cutting a tire challenging teammate Christian Eckes for the win on the final lap at Salem, Smith is biding his time until driving to victory lane.
“Our day is coming,” said the short track ace when asked about his chances at Madison. “I’m blessed with the success we’ve had but I don’t take it for granted. Each week is a battle. Madison will be no different.”

The Herr’s Potato Chips 200 is scheduled for Friday June 15 at Madison International Speedway, located just outside Madison, Wisconsin. Practice is scheduled for 2:15 pm ET (1:15 pm local), with General Tire Pole Qualifying is set for 6 pm ET (5 pm local), with the green flag slated for 8 pm ET (7 pm local). Live timing and scoring of all on-track sessions will be available at ARCARacing.com, and the race will be televised live on MAVTV.
