The 2018 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season will resume its incredible show this weekend at the Autodromo di Franciacorta with the second edition of the American NASCAR Weekend. Solaris Motorsport prepared its home race working hard on the #12 at its base in Pescara, aiming to catch a good result in front of the many fans that will support the Italian team in its home round.
“We are ready to hit the track again. We spent a lot of time at the workshop after Valencia, we fixed some things around the car and, most important, we found and fixed the problem that caused the loss of power and slowed us during the races.” commented Francesco Sini, who will drive the #12 in the ELITE 1 Division. “For us everything was new in Spain: the championship, the rules, the car. And I also had to adapt my driving style to this car. We already had two test sessions here in Franciacorta and this makes us more confident: we have some data and a background from which we can start to build a memorable weekend.”
“Valencia was for us the first page of a new chapter of our history. We had to get used to a new championship and a new car, both very different from what we usually have in Europe. With one race under the belt and much more time available, we had the chance to work on the car in order to fix what was wrong in Valencia and to discover and learn something more about our #12. Franciacorta will be our home race, all our fans and our sponsors will come to support us and it could be great to thank them with a good result on track.” said Roberto Sini, Solaris Motorsport Team Manager.
The American NASCAR Weekend at Franciacorta Circuit will kick off on Friday, 18th May, with the two free practice sessions. The qualifying session is scheduled on Saturday morning at 10 AM while Race 1 will start at 1:30 PM. The green flag for Race 2 will be waved on Sunday at 2:30 PM. All the races and the qualifying session will be live streaming on NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Facebook page, Motorsport.TV and Fanchoice.TV.
