Tour-Type Modifieds Added, Schedule Released, Tickets Available For PASS Commonwealth Classic At Richmond

Officials from the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and Richmond Raceway made several major announcements today in regards to the Inaugural PASS Commonwealth Classic at Richmond Raceway on Saturday night, October 20. Stock car racing’s oldest division, the ground pounding Tour-Type Modifieds will return to Richmond for the first time since 2002, joining the PASS Super Late Models, Late Model Stocks, Limited Late Models, and Street Stocks on this amazing evening of racing under the lights. The weekend will begin on Thursday, October 18 with hauler parking and safety inspection. A practice day for all divisions is scheduled for Friday, October 19 that will also see more parking and safety inspection. Additional practice, qualifying, and all features will take place on Saturday afternoon, October 20, all ending under the lights of Richmond Raceway.

In addition, tickets will be available for purchase online at RichmondRaceway.com beginning today, Wednesday, May 16. Fans will be able to purchase tickets online leading up to the PASS Commonwealth Classic or at the speedway the weekend of the event. And, as an added bonus, fans will be able to access Richmond’s state-of-the-art Fan Zone and watch everything going on in the garage area throughout the weekend.

“A lot of work has already gone in to making the Inaugural PASS Commonwealth Classic a successful event,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry. “Fans and racers have been asking for years to see the Tour-Type Modifieds back at Richmond and we are glad we can make this happen. Having the schedule out at such an early date and allowing fans to begin purchasing tickets can really allow us to get the Classic into high gear. This combination of premier, and unique, divisions will make the Commonwealth Classic a true ‘once in a lifetime’ racing opportunity.”

The Commonwealth Classic will consist of a 100-lap event for the PASS Super Late Models, paying $10,000 to win and $700 to start. Now entering its 11th season, Super Late Model racing’s only true national championship will bring drivers together from all over North America to compete this Fall at Richmond Raceway.

Additionally, both the Tour-Type Modifieds and Late Model Stocks will each return to Richmond Raceway for the first time in a number of years, both competing in 75-lap races, paying $7,000 to win and $700 to start. The Limited Late Models and Street Stocks will make their first ever starts at Richmond Raceway with the Limiteds racing for 50 laps and $4000 to win and the Street Stocks racing for 40 laps and $2000 to win.

“We look forward to bringing another weekend of racing to fans in Racing Virginia with the Pro All Stars Series,” said Richmond President Dennis Bickmeier. “The inaugural PASS Commonwealth Classic will feature some of North America’s best Super Late Model, Modified, Late Model, and Street Stock drivers, and we are honored PASS selected Richmond Raceway as the site for its championship race weekend. It is going to be another great weekend of racing as the Action Track gets hot in October.”

Andy Seuss, is one of the top Tour-type Modified drivers in the country and is echoing many of his competitors’ sentiments when it comes to returning to Richmond Raceway.

“We would not miss it,” says Seuss. “I spoke with my car owner and teammate, Bryan Dauzat, and he shares my excitement. He said Richmond was the last track on his bucket list. Big thanks to everyone at PASS and Richmond for making it happen.”
