Garrett Marchant to Make 1st Southern National Start 2012 Race Season Begins This Saturday

The green flag finally will drop this weekend at the newly restored Southern National Motorsports Park and Garrett Marchant will be driving under it.  Marchant is prepared to make his run at the 2012 track rookie of the year honors in the Limited Late Model series division, as this is his first full year behind the No. 77 Lone Star Car Transportation/ LLM.

Last year Garrett made his first start in a Limited Late Model at Orange County Speedway and learned a lot. That is what 2012 is all about for this 15 year old, learning. “It has been a long off season, but I am glad that it is over” Garrett said last week when he got back behind the wheel. Garrett and his team went out to Southern National last week to test and the results were very positive has the driver worked on his lines and car control.

“This is the best car I have ever had, goal is to stay on the lead lap and get a top ten this weekend, then in the future get top fives and some wins” Marchant noted about his #77in12 campaign that kicks off this weekend.  Look for the Lone Star Car Transportation Limited Late Model to make some moves this Saturday with Garrett Marchant behind the wheel.

The forecast does not look so dry for Saturday but the plan is to still race on Saturday, but if Mother Nature is having a bad day the race will be run on Sunday. Fans can follow the action by coming out to the track, or if they are unable to attend can follow Garrett’s PR twitter account: @GMR77PR.
