Brandon Jones will start on the pole at Chicagoland Speedway for the Scott 150. Jones, a Richard Childress Racing development driver in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, posted a 30.219, 178.696 mph. to lead the way.
The 20-year old driver from Atlanta, Georgia, captured his third career pole on Thursday. Jones comes into the race with two top five and two top 10 finishes through two ARCA starts.
Ty Majeski, a Roush Fenway Racing development driver, will start second in the No. 99 Treeo’s Ford for Cunningham Motorsports. Majeski posted a 30.250, 178.512 mph. in the single car / two lap qualifying session.
In two starts this season, Majeski holds two top 10 finishes. The last time out, at Michigan International Speedway, Majeski scored a sixth-place finish in his No. 99 machine.
Noah Gragson will round out the top three starters in the Scott 150. The driver from Las Vegas, Nevada, posted a 30.258, 178.465 mph. around the 1.5-mile Chicagoland Speedway.
In four ARCA starts in 2017, Gragson has only one top 10 finish. That finish came at Pocono Raceway in July when he finished ninth on the leaderboard.
Dalton Sargeant and the No. 77 Cunningham Motorsports team elected to work on the No. 77 Ford during qualifying. That means they did not post a lap and will start the 150-mile event at the rear of the field. Also not turning a lap in qualifying was Brad Smith.
The 100-lap, 150-mile event will take place at 8:00 p.m. ET. live on FOX Sports 1.
