Mason Mitchell Motorsports Montgomery Ward 200 Pre-Race

After racing at the fastest track on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule the Michigan International Speedway, its back to short track roots for Mason Mitchell Motorsports at the Madison International Speedway. 17-Year-old Ryan Repko will make his ARCA debut with racing the No. 78 Champion Power Equipment/Cometic Gaskets Chevrolet with MMM at Madison Friday evening in the Montgomery Ward 200.

MMM is coming off a dominating performance last week at MIS where for the third time in 2017 they led the most laps in a race (71). Repko recently captured his first CARS Late Model Tour Stock Car pole at the Anderson Motor Speedway and earned a sixth-place finish.

Madison starts a stretch of three straight short track races (Madison, Iowa, and Lucas Oil Raceway) for MMM with the ARCA Racing Series. The team has been quite strong on the short tracks in 2017, earning two top-five’s and four top-ten finishes. The team led the most laps 134 en-route to a second place finish at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville.

The team tested Tuesday afternoon with Repko behind the wheel for the first time of the No. 78 at Motor Mile Speedway in Virginia

Driver Ryan Repko Quotes:

“I originally started racing in Late Models at Motor Mile and Motor Mile resembles Madison quite a bit,” Repko explained. We’re hoping my experience there will transition over to Madison. There will be a few challenges going into this. The two most obvious will be the horsepower and the size of the car, but I think the biggest thing will be running on a radial tire. I’ve never driven on a radial tire in my career. I know that my MMM crew led by Kevin Reed will get me up to speed quickly. These guys produce quality cars.”

“We had a great test Tuesday at Motor Mile. We spent a lot of time on race runs. I feel like we had a lot of speed right away and just made minor adjustments and kept tweaking on it. I feel very confident heading into the race Friday evening.

Owner Mason Mitchell Quotes:

“I’ve been following Ryan for a couple of years now and he’s always had my attention,” Owner Mason Mitchell stated. “Ryan did a great job at our test yesterday. He was all ears and learned quickly. He was very smooth behind the wheel and didn’t abuse the tires. I am looking forward to seeing what we can do this weekend.”
