Toyota and Children’s Hospitals Continue 27-Year Relationship

Toyota continues its 27-year relationship with the Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach and the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) through a $100,000 donation.

Toyota’s General Manager of Motorsports Keith Dahl presented a check to representatives of both children’s hospitals during Sunday’s pre-race ceremonies for the 43rd annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

“The continued support of both these organizations further highlights Toyota’s commitment to actively support local communities throughout the country,” said Dahl.

Throughout the past several decades, Toyota’s charitable contributions have been an integral part of its title sponsorship of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach race weekend. Previous contributions have been focused through the Child Life programs at both hospitals and have surpassed 2.4 million dollars in nearly three decades.

Child Life managers Rita Goshert from Miller and Stephanie Chami from CHOC joined Dahl during the presentation. The donation will continue to be split equally between the two hospitals.

“The Child Life program at Miller has enjoyed a long standing relationship with Toyota,” commented Goshert. ”Their generous gifts have contributed to the improvement of the patient and family experience.”

“We are extremely grateful for the continuous support by Toyota,” said Chami. “Their contributions enable us to provide necessary staffing and supplies for CHOC’s Child Life program.”
