— Fresh off a 9th place finish in this year’s NTT INDYCAR series standings, A. J. Foyt Enterprises driver Santino Ferrucci will drive for Abacus Racing in the 2025 Chili Bowl as well as both USAC National Midget Series races
at Merced Speedway on November 22 and 23, 2024.
The Woodbury, Connecticut native will drive the #16 with primary sponsorship from Webco Engineering. Ferrucci made his Chili Bowl debut in 2021 and looks forward to getting back to Tulsa.
Said Ferrucci, “I love racing and all forms of it. The Chili Bowl is one of those events that I love to compete in. It is a big event with a big event feel, so you just feel you are part of something from the second you arrive at the Expo Center.”
Brent Cox, Team Principal for Abacus Racing said, “It is no secret that my love of racing and my roots in racing came from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. So, to have Santino drive for us is something very special for us as a team.”
Ferrucci drives for 4-time Indianapolis 500 winner A. J. Foyt in the NTT INDYCAR Series, something that gives Ferrucci some added motivation as a driver.
Continued Ferrucci, “A. J. was so good at everything he drove, and was a champion on pavement and dirt. Driving on dirt is something I definitely want to get better on.”
Abacus Racing is headquartered in Indianapolis and became just the second entrant in the history of USAC to win the USAC Triple Crown when it won the USAC Sprint Car Championship with Logan Seavey in October. It was that kind of success that made it easy for Ferrucci to drive for Abacus.
“They are the 2023 USAC Midget Champions, and Logan is the 2-time defending Chili Bowl champion, so to have him as a teammate in Merced will be great” continued Ferrucci. Seavey will be Ferrucci’s teammate in Merced but will drive for Kevin Swindell for the Chili Bowl. It was announced a few weeks ago that Kaylee Bryson will pilot the Abacus Racing #57 at the Chili Bowl in place of Seavey.
In addition to his primary sponsorship from Webco Engineering, he will have support from Indy Powersports, Indy Custom Stone, CG CPAs, Forecheck Marketing, Chernoff Cosmetic Surgeons, Foyt Winery & Museum, F3 Energy and GrPro.
The Chili Bowl Nationals begins on January 12, 2025 with practice, followed by five consecutive preliminary feature nights that ends with the final feature night on January 18, 2025. All nights of the Chili Bowl as well as all the USAC races will be broadcast on FloRacing.
