Jordon Mallett has landed a new opportunity as he will drive for A.G. Rains the next two weekends.
The duo will compete at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., both weekends with the USCS Series’ Flip Flop 50 running this Friday and Saturday. The following weekend features the ASCS National Tour and USCS Series during the World Short Track Challenge.
“I’ve known A.G. ever since I started racing,” Mallett said. “Last year on the ASCS National Tour we got to know each other better and then I started doing his graphics work last year.
“I think it’s a great opportunity. I’m super eager. He’s a well-known and accomplished driver and car owner. I’m fortunate that he called me to run these couple of shows. That’s a high honor when someone calls you to see if you are interested in running their equipment. I’m looking forward to the opportunity and working with him.”
Mallett’s best outing at the track this season was a fifth-place result during the Hooker Hood Classic. He earned wins at the track each year between 2013 and 2017.
“I have confidence rolling into it,” he said. “I’m confident in myself and my equipment. The opportunity to get into someone else’s car when I know they know what they are doing keeps my confidence high. I’m capable and his stuff is capable. It’s a matter of putting our heads together and getting up to speed quickly.
“I’m grateful that my partners are supporting the opportunity. I’ve been very fortunate to have amazing partners for many years who have backed me in my own equipment as well as with the great opportunities I’ve been offered.”
