Big Game Motorsports and Gravel Heading to Williams Grove National Open - Speedway Digest

Big Game Motorsports and driver David Gravel will face off with the Pennsylvania Posse this weekend during a crown jewel event.

Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., hosts the Weis Markets National Open presented by Sage Fruit on Friday and Saturday.

Gravel captured the National Open in 2014 and in 2017. He has produced nine career World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series victories at the track, including during the most recent visit in July.

Gravel enters the weekend with a 90-point lead in the World of Outlaws championship standings. His 14 wins with the series this season ranks second best in his career and is only four triumphs behind his career-best year in 2017.

One of those victories this season came during a crown jewel on the World of Outlaws schedule as Gravel picked up his first career Kings Royal win at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio. In other crown jewel events, Gravel was victorious during the Joker’s Jackpot at Eldora Speedway and he placed eighth during the BillionAuto.com Huset’s High Bank Nationals presented by MENARDS at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D.; and 12 th at the Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.
