As the season finale of NASCAR Canada Series presented by Pinty’s and Evirum approaches, driver Steve Côté of the #29 Chevrolet and Allrem Racing Evirum/BKFC team are heading to Montmagny Speedway for the XPN 250. This event holds special significance as no driver in the series has had the chance to showcase their skills on this 3/8-mile track. In fact, it will be the first time NASCAR competes on this circuit, located about an hour from Quebec City.
“We ran some tests at Autodrome Montmagny last week, and everything went really well,” said Steve Côté. “We also had a great weekend at Delaware Speedway, where we were running up front, but a brake failure cost us a podium finish. I’m determined to end the year on a high note by delivering a podium for Allrem Racing, Evirum, and BKFC.”
For Jonathan Côté, Allrem Racing’s crew chief, Montmagny is the perfect place to secure a strong result. “During our tests, we noticed a few areas we could fine-tune and improve. We’re aiming to finish the season strong and on a positive note. I believe we’ll be fast enough to fight at the front of the pack. Our execution throughout the weekend has to be flawless.”
Both brothers agree that this season has been a learning experience. “Even though we would’ve liked to skip this step, I guess it’s a rite of passage!” added Jonathan Côté.
Steve Côté’s consistency and determination have earned him the title of ‘Rookie of the Year,’ as he has made a strong impression throughout the season. “Our new team has shown resilience in tough moments, but we always managed to come out on top and score important points. I’m proud to have secured a title for Allrem Racing,” Steve Côté concluded.
Fans who want to watch the 250-lap race live can do so on the TSN+ app or FloRacing website. Practice and qualifying will take place on Saturday, September 21, with the main event scheduled for Sunday, September 22, at 1 p.m.
