Starks Focused on Adding Two More Track Championships to His List of Accomplishments

Trey Starks is in line to score two more championships this Saturday during Championship Night at Skagit Speedway.

Starks will run double duty, competing in both the 410ci winged sprint car and 360ci winged sprint car divisions in the final points race of the season at the high-banked oval in Alger, Wash. He is the two-time defending 410 track champion and is going after his first career 360 track championship at Skagit Speedway.

“We’ve had a great season in both divisions and the ultimate goal is to earn two more championships,” he said. “We’ve been consistent and won a lot of races so hopefully we can end on a strong note in each division.”

Starks is currently on top of the owners championship by 66 points and he ranks second in the drivers standings – 26 points out of the top spot – in the 410 championship standings. His four wins and seven top fives in 13 features this season lead the way.

Starks leads both the owners (by 151 points) and the drivers (by 40 points) championship standings in the 360 sprint car division thanks to a track-best five victories and six top fives in eight feature starts.

“We’ve had a fast car starting in qualifying at just about every show this season so that really sets you up to have a successful night,” he said. “We’ve been fortunate to capitalize on that and make good decisions throughout the race night both with the setup and on the track to contend for a lot of wins. The consistency of running inside the top five even if you don’t win is what leads to championships.”

Saturday also presents two more opportunities for Starks to capture another feature triumph to set a personal best for wins in a single season.
