The penultimate ARCA Menards Series short track race of the year at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway will feature a fiery new paint scheme with AM Racing and driver Christian Rose partnering with WVU Medicine Children’s for Thursday night’s Bush’s Bean 200.
Rose’s No. 32 Ford Mustang will feature a design submitted by three WVU Medicine Children’s patients who will also attend the 200-lap race on September 19.
“WVU Medicine Children’s is very grateful that the ‘Christian Rose Racing for WVU Kids’ art collaboration is showcasing the artistic talent of our patients,” Amy L. Bush, B.S.N., M.B.A., R.N., C.N.O.R., chief administrative officer for WVU Medicine Children’s, said.
“In 2023, Children’s treated thousands of patients from every corner of West Virginia and the region. This collaboration will bring hope to our patients while furthering our mission of building healthier futures for our kids.”
Rose’s No. 32 Ford Mustang will feature a design submitted by three WVU Medicine Children’s patients during the 200-lap ARCA Menards Series race.
The featured patients are:
Addison Schrock, 11, of Acme, Pennsylvania, who is serving as the 2024 Children’s Miracle Network® Champion Child. Addison was diagnosed with epilepsy and cortical dysplasia at eight years old. She lives every day to the fullest and enjoys bubble tea, Crumbl cookies, and horses.
Ivy Martin, 12, of Morgantown. Ivy was born with bilateral choanal atresia and had her first surgery at four days old. She loves playing softball and creating art.
Brantly Poling, 12, of Vienna, has never let his spina bifida hold him back. He wants to make the world a better place, enjoys the outdoors, and spreads awareness about his condition.
Rose, the Martinsburg, West Virginia native, returns to the world’s fastest-half mile searching for back-to-back top-five finishes after finishing eighth in last fall’s ARCA Menards Series visit to Thunder Valley.
Rose eyes his first career ARCA Menards Series win this week, showcasing a humbling paint scheme.
“This is one of the great benefits of our being a West Virginia native,” offered Rose. “I am proud to represent WVU Medicine Children’s this week at Bristol Motor Speedway.
“This relationship with WVU Medicine Children’s means so much to me, and I want nothing more than to have a repeat Bristol performance from last year and showcase our beautiful No. 32 WVU Medicine Children’s Ford Mustang throughout the race while contending for a top-five or a win.”
“With Bristol being one of the closest races to West Virginia, it is important to me and our AM Racing team to not only lend our support and bring awareness to WVU Medicine Children’s but also welcome Addison, Brantly and Ivy to the racetrack for a night of fun while seeing their design tackling the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway for a double-header race.
“I love racing at Bristol, and I’m so glad that Addison, Brantly, and Ivy will be able to embrace the experience and see the race car in person.”
Rose’s racing uniform will be auctioned off at the upcoming Morgantown WVU Medicine Children’s Gala in February.
