Estenson Improves Throughout World of Outlaws Weekend at Huset’s Speedway

Tim Estenson made a vast improvement throughout the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series tripleheader at Huset’s Speedway last weekend.

Estenson’s night ended in the C Main on Friday during the Huset’s Hustle presented by Folkens Brothers Trucking. He advanced into the Last Chance Showdown on Saturday during the preliminary night for the BillionAuto.com Huset’s High Bank Nationals presented by MENARDS before making the A Main on Sunday during the event finale.

“Each night we got better,” he said. “Jack (Dover) got me better each time we hit the track all weekend.”

Estenson qualified 20 th quickest in his group before advancing from 10 th to ninth place in a heat race and from fourth to third place in the C Main on Friday.

On Saturday, Estenson timed in 12 th quickest in his group. He placed sixth in a heat race to miss advancing into the feature by only one spot. The night ended with a seventh-place result in the Last Chance Showdown.

“We qualified a little better,” he said. “The track was green with it being heavy so you took what you could get in the heat race. I had a really good starting spot in the Last Chance Showdown, but I got a little throttle happy on the start and ended up not getting a good start. I got freight trained early and that was my fault.”

Estenson saved his best for last as he powered from seventh to fourth place in a heat race on Sunday to lock into the main event.

“I felt pretty good in hot laps and Jack got me better for the heat race,” he said. “Every time we hit the track all weekend I felt more comfortable and was making better laps. I think we got into sixth and caught a gift when Tim Kaeding got crossed up. We were able to stay in it and get around (Emerson) Axsom for fourth. We were able to make the show, which out of all the races on the weekend it was the most important one to make.”

Estenson capped the night by placing 18 th in the A Main.

“I was maintaining at least a quarter of the race,” he said. “I just wanted to make good laps. For being in the show and improving throughout the weekend, I’m happy with the outcome of the final night.”

Estenson is taking this weekend off before returning to action Sept. 14 at Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa, with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series 410 Sprint Cars. He is the current points leader heading into that season finale.
