Seth Dyer Wins His First Perris Auto Speedway Young Guns Series Main Event

On a night that should be bookmarked in the sprint car racing career of Seth Dyer, the 17-year-old scored his first-ever win in a full-size sprint car at Perris Auto Speedway last Saturday night. Not only did the 17-year-old win the main event in convincing style, but he dominated the Young Guns heat race as well.

For Dyer, the son of USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series driver Jeff Dyer, it was only his third appearance in a full-size sprint car and only the second of 2024. The Yucca Valley, California high schooler is currently fourth in the championship point standings of the California Lightning Sprint Car Series. He performed like a seasoned pro in his step up to the full-size, heavier, and much faster car. He demolished the field in his heat race and won by over a full straightaway. In the main event, it took the personable young driver a bit of time to get to the front, but he walked away and scored another convincing win once he did.

The victory was the second of his career. Last year, on October 21st, he smoked the star-studded field in the main at the POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprint Car race at the Imperial Valley Raceway.

The teenager will return to action on September 13th and 14th, when the CLS ends its summer break. On the 13th, he will be at the Bakersfield Speedway in a show that also features the legendary World of Outlaw Sprint Cars. That race will be beamed live around the world on Dirt Vision. He will be with the CLS at the Ventura Raceway twenty-four hours later.

With his father still on the mend from the injuries he suffered in a grinding main event crash at Perris on July 13th, Seth will try to make it two in a row when the Young Guns return to The PAS on September 21st.

If you have a Facebook account, Seth did an interview before last Saturday’s race. You can hear it here https://www.facebook.com/reel/1019188306156799.
