Starks Returning to Racing Saturday at Skagit Speedway After Special Week

Trey Starks is enjoying his new title: father.

Starks and his wife, Ally, recently welcomed their first child into the world. The special life moment kept Starks out of his sprint car for last Saturday’s race at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., where long-time friend Dominic Scelzi drove his car to a second-place finish in the 360ci winged sprint car feature and an eighth-place result in the 410ci winged sprint car main event.

“We want to thank Dominic for flying up to race our car in both divisions,” Starks said. “It kept us in a good position in the points standings while I focused on a special moment with my family.”

Starks continues to lead the Skagit Speedway owner standings in the 410 division. He leads both the owner and driver standings in the 360 division.

Starks plans on returning to action at Skagit Speedway this Saturday during the track’s final 410 sprint car race prior to the famed Sage Fruit Skagit Nationals featuring the Kubota High Limit Racing series the following weekend.

“I’m excited to get back behind the wheel this Saturday for our final tune-up race before the Skagit Nationals,” he said. “We’ve ran well this year and with big High Limit races at Skagit and at Grays Harbor in the next couple of weeks our goal is to go into them hitting on all cylinders.”
