Jordon Mallett will make his third visit of the season to Riverside International Speedway this Saturday.
Mallett’s best outing at the track in West Memphis, Ark., this season is a fifth-place result on May 11 during the Hooker Hood Classic.
“It’s one of those places I’ve always enjoyed going to,” he said. “I’ve been fortunate to have quite a bit of success there. I look at this weekend as a tune-up for the big race there in September so we have a few things we want to try.”
The bullring is a track where Mallett produced feature victories each year between 2013 and 2017.
“I feel we’re a contender any time we pull through the pit gate,” he said. “I have a lot of confidence going there because I know we have speed there for the most part. There’s been a few nights that have thrown us curve balls. The track has changed quite a bit from a few years ago when I felt we were one of the better cars. I feel we can still be a little bit better there sometimes.”
Mallett enters the race with three feature triumphs in his last six starts this season.
“I really feel like the confidence and momentum is on our side and that’s how I intend to keep it,” he said. “We have a really good balance right now. We have a good package and we’re always trying to fine-tune it. It’s really good to be running well and my confidence in the seat is helping us to be willing to try some things to get even better. I feel we’ve done a good job of executing this season and I’m eager to get back to Victory Lane.”
