NHRA Spring Training moves to Phoenix for 2016

After several years of travelling to sunny South Florida and the state-of-the-art Palm Beach International Raceway for the PRO Winter Warm-Up, the NHRA will head west to the desert surrounding Phoenix, Arizona in 2016 at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, Feb. 3-6.

The event will feature Top Fuel and Funny Car teams testing and tuning their 10,000 horsepower machines one weekend prior to the season-opening Circle K NHRA Winternationals, Feb. 11-14, at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona in Southern California. The weekend will be critical for NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series teams to get their racecar setups near perfect in preparation for the 2016 season-opener at one of drag racing’s most tradition-rich events at historic Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.

The sessions will also be utilized to prepare for the second event of the year, the CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals, Feb. 26-28 at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.

Testing will be open to the public on Saturday, Feb. 6, with two ways to see the action. Fans can purchase a “Super Ticket” to the CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals for $99. This package includes one Friday, Feb. 26 general admission ticket, one Sunday, Feb. 28  general admission ticket as well as one general admission ticket to the Saturday, Feb. 6 NHRA Nitro Spring Training test session.
