Dominic Scelzi Holds High Hopes Entering Fastest Five Days in Motorsports Week With NARC 410 Sprint Car Series

Dominic Scelzi is heading north to begin arguably the busiest week of his season.

Scelzi will face five races in five days at five tracks in Oregon and Washington during the Fastest Five Days in Motorsports with the NARC 410 Sprint Car Series.

“This is always a grueling week, but it’s also a lot of fun,” he said. “We’ve had some good runs at the tracks we are going to so hopefully we can be a contender each night this week.”

It starts on Wednesday at Southern Oregon Speedway in White City, Ore. Additional races are Thursday at Douglas County Dirt Track in Roseburg, Ore.; Friday at Cottage Grove Speedway in Cottage Grove, Ore.; Saturday at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Ore.; and Sunday at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash.

Scelzi won three races at Cottage Grove Speedway last season. He placed sixth at Southern Oregon Speedway, 12 th at Douglas County Dirt Track, third at Willamette Speedway and 15 th at Grays Harbor Raceway during the Fastest Five Days in Motorsports last year. Scelzi added a 10th-place result at Grays Harbor Raceway during the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series race.

“There were a couple of incidents last year that kept us from even better results,” he said. “We have the car and team capable of being fast each night we unload. I’m hungry to capture that first 410 win of the season so this week presents a lot of great opportunities.”

Scelzi logged his first laps of the season in the Northwest last Saturday when he piloted a sprint car for Willie Kahne at Skagit Speedway. He qualified 12 th quickest and won a heat race before advancing from eighth to sixth place in the main event.

“I want to thank Willie for the opportunity,” he said. “It was great to get some laps at Skagit Speedway prior to the upcoming Dirt Cup. We improved throughout the night and nearly came away with a top five.”
