Moffitt Keeps Title Hopes Alive – K&N Results from NHMS

Brett Moffitt kept his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East title hopes alive with a rain-shortened win in the New Hampshire 125 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Friday.

Moffitt led a race-high 53 laps en route to his seventh career win and first at the “Magic Mile.” The Michael Waltrip Racing development driver cut the points lead of Joe Gibbs Racing’s Max Gresham to 21 entering the season finale Friday, Sept. 30 at Dover International Speedway.

Gresham, who had a 65-point lead entering the race weekend, finished seventh Friday. The race was called after 78 laps due to rain and darkness.

Revolution Racing teammates Sergio Peña and Darrell Wallace Jr. finished second and third, respectively. Wallace won the 21 Means 21 Pole Award presented by Coors Light in Thursday’s qualifying and led the first 15 laps Friday. Matt DiBenedetto was fourth and Eddie MacDonald fifth.

Corey LaJoie finished sixth, followed by Gresham, Daniel Suárez, Brandon Gdovic and Brandon McReynolds.

The New Hampshire 125 will air on SPEED on Thursday, Sept. 29.

Moffitt is the two-time defending race winner of the Dover 150, which will conclude the 2011 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season in Dover, Del.
