Levine Ties Career Best ARCA Finish At The Tricky Triangle

In his second career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race at Pocono Raceway, rookie driver David Levine successfully picked up where he left off after June’s event at the track. He qualified one position better, then raced to a 6th place finish – two spots ahead of his finish at the “Tricky Triangle” in June.

The ModSpace 125 race weekend got off to a slow start for David. A motor issue at the beginning of practice and a lengthy red flag towards the end of the session limited the amount of time the Lira Motorsports 59 team had to dial-in the brand new car they brought for the race.

“Not getting to take advantage of the full 85 minute practice session hurt us some, but we got the motor issue fixed and we’ll be fine for the race,” David stated after qualifying. “We are great in race trim over the long run.”

In the race, David picked up ten positions on the first lap, moving from 14th to 4th, after avoiding involvement in a wreck among the race leaders in the tunnel turn on lap one. He raced inside the top ten for the remainder of the event, cruising to his 8th top ten of the year. His 6th place finish matches his finish at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville earlier this year as his ARCA Series career best finish.

With 14 of 20 races on the ARCA Series 2015 schedule in the books, David remains on top of the ARCA Scott Rookie Challenge standings, a position he has held for the majority of this season. He also remains solidly in 5th place in the ARCA Series driver points standings.

After the race, David commented: “Awesome day at Pocono! Started 14th and ended up 6th – matching our best finish of the year! Great way to rebound after last week at Indy! With the issues some of the other drivers had, this was a solid points day for us. Thrilled to run up front with our Momo / Ford Performance / TraqGear Ford Fusion in a nationally televised race. I can’t thank everyone at LiraMotorsports enough for today. So proud to finally give my spotter, Andy Houston, the finish he deserves! Love working with him!! Looking forward to Berlin next week!”

David returns to action this Saturday for the Federated Auto Parts 200 at Berlin Raceway. On-track activities include practice sessions from 2:30-3:15pm and from 3:45-4:30pm, followed by Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell at 5:45. The Federated Auto Parts 200 is scheduled to start at 8:50. ARCAracing.com will feature live timing and scoring and flag-to-flag audio coverage of all on-track activities. All times are local/Eastern.
