18 drivers to battle it out on the tri-oval in the “Memphis 100 with Ricky Stenhouse Jr.”

The USAC Silver Crown Series returns to Memphis International Raceway (MIR) on Sunday after a 10-year hiatus. There will be 18 drivers, including NASCAR driver and hometown favorite Ricky Stenhouse Jr., competing for the coveted win at the .75-mile race track.

USAC Silver Crown Series regulars Tracy Hines and Kody Swanson are heading into MIR tied for first-place in the point standings with 228. They are just 27 points ahead of two-time champion Bobby East after four races in the 2014 season. Hines may have the advantage on Sunday as he has competed in all four previous USAC races at MIR. His best finish of second came in 2000 at the tri-oval.

Stenhouse Jr. hails from Olive Branch, Miss. and grew up racing at MIR. He will make his first USAC Series appearance in six years at his hometown track driving the No. 99 RE Technologies car for the 100-lap shootout. Sunday will also mark the first time Stenhouse Jr. has raced on the pavement at MIR. His previous races entered at the facility were run on the former dirt track.
