Kaleb Johnson Eager for New Experiences With a Busy Racing Schedule Planned in 2024

Kaleb Johnson will branch out to several new tracks this year as he continues to build his sprint car program.

The only points racing planned is the 410ci winged sprint car division at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D.

“This year we want to race wherever we want,” he said. “We’re only focusing on Huset’s weekly and our goal is to travel to some different places and get me and the team more experience. It’ll be a lot of World of Outlaws stuff in the middle of the summer.

“Consistency and qualifying are the main things at Huset’s. I thought we had a really good year at Huset’s in 2022. Last year it was frustrating and disappointing. A lot of things happened out of our control that dampened our season. We’re excited to return to Huset’s this year and take a step forward with consistency.”

In addition to the weekly competition at the high-banked oval, Johnson is increasing his percentage of 410 shows in the season plan.

“I think I have a total of 64 races and about 16 or 17 are 360 shows so we’ll do close to 50 410 shows,” he said. “We want to work on building our 410 program and taking another step forward in 2024 with not only more 410 races, but a lot of big shows.”

Another emphasis is venturing to at least a half dozen new tracks this year.

“Toward the end of the year we’re going to Riverside International Speedway for an ASCS show,” Johnson said. “It’s something I’m really looking forward to. We’re excited to get to different tracks. The last few years I’ve raced the same handful of tracks. If I want to get better I need to race at different tracks and with different competition.”

The planned kickoff to the season is a month away as Johnson will head to Oklahoma for ASCS Sooner Region races on March 22 at Thunderbird Raceway in Muskogee and March 23 at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa.

“I’m looking forward to getting back in the car and turning some laps,” he said. “It’ll be fun to head south for the weekend to get a busy season underway.”
