NASCAR announced today the No. 9 team that competes in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West has been penalized as a result of rules violations committed Saturday, Aug. 17, at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash.
The No. 9 car was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); Section 12-4J (Any determination by NASCAR officials that the race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules) and Section 20C-12.3T (All shock absorbers must compress or extend a distance of six (6) inches in a time span of 1-1/2 minutes or less with the external adjustment set in any position: Shock travel exceeded maximum time limit) of the 2013 NASCAR rule book. The violation was discovered during post-race inspection.
Jeff Schrader, crew chief of car No. 9, has been fined $2,500 and suspended from NASCAR until the fine is paid. Dylan Lupton, driver of car No. 9, has been penalized with the loss of 12 championship driver points, and Bob Bruncati, owner of car No. 9, has been penalized with the loss of 12 championship owner points.
