Turner Scott Motorsports NKNPSE Previews: Columbus Motor Speedway

NAPA 150…Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) will make their first trip to Columbus Motor Speedway with their three full-time drivers, Austin Dyne, Dylan Kwasniewski and Kenzie Ruston. Dyne, Kwasniewski and Ruston will all be making their NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) debut at Columbus Motor Speedway, but the trio of drivers did test at the 0.333-mile oval two weeks ago.

Langley Recap…TSM captured its third NKNPSE victory of the season, and second in a row, all coming with Dylan Kwasniewski behind the wheel of the No. 98 Royal Purple/Rockstar Energy Drink entry. Kwasniewski’s teammates also had a good trip to Langley Speedway, with Dyne coming home with a top-10 finish after rebounding from an early race pit stop to finish in 8th. After finishing last in the previous race due to a tire failure, Ruston was able to work her way back through the field at Langley Speedway after a mid-race spin to finish in the 12th spot.

Test, Test…The TSM entries of Kwasniewski, Dyne and Ruston went to Columbus Speedway just two short weeks ago for a test session. The three drivers, all rookies at the 0.333-mile oval, used the one-day test session to gain valuable track time and information for the NAPA 150.

Watch the NAPA 150…Tune into SPEED on Thursday July 25th at 3 p.m. EDT to catch the NAPA 150 from Columbus Motor Speedway.

Austin Dyne…Coming off his first top-10 finish of the 2013 season, Dyne is looking forward to making his first start at the 0.333-mile oval of Columbus Motor Speedway. Dyne has cracked the top 15 in the point standings and now sits only 15 points out of 10th. Dyne comes out of the test session with experience and confidence that he can bring his KMC Wheels team their first top five of the year.

“It’s always helpful when we can test at a track before we race there, especially when it’s somewhere that I’ve never raced before. I feel like we’ve really started to hit our stride as a team, and I am looking forward to seeing what our KMC Wheels team can do at Columbus.”

Dylan Kwasniewski…Coming off his third victory of the 2013 season at Langley Speedway, Kwasniewski returned to the top of the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings and heads into Columbus looking to extend his points lead and make it three victories in a row. Kwasniewski will be making his first start at Columbus Motor Speedway on Saturday night.

“We have had a couple of really good races in a row and we plan to keep it rolling this weekend at Columbus. We were really happy with our Royal Purple/Rockstar Energy Chevrolet when we tested there a few weeks ago, so I am really excited to make my debut at the track on Saturday night.”

Kenzie Ruston…Coming off a recent string of bad luck, Ruston is looking forward to getting back to the track and getting her AccuDoc Solutions team back on track this weekend at Columbus Motor Speedway. Ruston currently sits 8th in the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings, just 16 points out of fifth. She is also currently one point out of first in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings.

“Columbus is a lot like Langley, where you are consistently turning. We know what we struggled with at Langley, and I am very confident that we will have a very good racecar for Columbus. We also learned a lot when we tested there and we will be able to use that information for the race, so I can’t wait to get back on track.”
