CHARLOTTE, NC (July 5, 2013) – Derek DeMartino looks to take to the track once again tomorrow in his The Rocket 99.5 sprint car when he competes at Southern New Mexico Speedway.  This will be DeMartino’s first race since June 22 when he finished 17th in the feature at the track due to ignition issues.

This weekend the entire team looks to make the best of what their season has dealt them, and go after wins by completing laps in the heats and in the feature. After getting off to a rocky start in 2013 from flipping and having mechanical issues, Derek DeMartino looks to take the 99.5 sprint car to the front this weekend.

“I’m looking forward to racing the rocker sprint car this weekend. Hopefully we have a good run considering the bad luck the past couple weekends,” Derek DeMartino said.  When looking at the first half of the year, when DeMartino had a wreck he says that it really isn’t bothering him. “The wreck at the beginning of the year didn’t faze me. We had a strong run after that.  We would have had a couple more good runs but we have had ignition problems. We finally got the problem fixed so it should be a good weekend for 4th of July racing!”

After taking to the airwaves at The Rocket, 99.5 FM, DeMartino is excited to show all the listeners what he can do behind the wheel! DeMartino would also like to remind his fans about his fan car program on going throughout the 2013 season.
