No. 97 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Team Penalized For Rules Violations At Bowman Gray

NASCAR announced today the No. 97 team that competes in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East has been penalized as a result of rules violations committed Saturday, June 1 at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The No. 97 car was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-I (any determination by NASCAR officials that the race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules); and 20C-4.1D 18 (Unapproved exhaust header and collector modification: Must remain as supplied by the NASCAR-approved supplier) of the 2013 NASCAR rule book. The violation was discovered during post-race inspection.

Kris Bowen, crew chief of the No. 97 car, has been fined $2,500, suspended from NASCAR until the fine is paid and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31, 2013.

Owner Jason Little has been penalized with the loss of 12 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship car owner points, while driver Jesse Little has been penalized with the loss of 12 championship driver points.
