NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Driver Scott Heckert Partners Up With Project Lifesaver International to Drive for Awareness

Scott Heckert developed a deep passion at the young age of 8-years-old when he began racing go-karts at the Norwalk Karting Association where he secured many wins and two championships.  This was just the beginning of great things to come for Heckert.

“After continued success I took my talents to full size cars and participated in several Skip Barber National races. In only 4 races I earned 3 top 5 finishes in the national level of competition. Late 2010 marked a change in the course of my racing career as I attended Finish Line Racing School and signed with BJ McLeod Motorsports.  Since then I have competed in the top ranks of southern asphalt late model racing. In 2012 I was named Bright House Challenge Rookie of the Year as well as finishing 5th in the points, to add to that I finished 4th and 3rd in my only 2 starts in the CRA Super Series,” said Heckert.

After much success at the ripe age of 19-years-old, Heckert, a sophomore at Miami University where he is studying Mechanical Engineering, wanted to do more with his passion for racing. “This year me and BJ McLeod Motorsports have moved to the NASCAR ranks to compete in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East,” said Heckert.

In the next few months Heckert will be racing to help raise awareness for Project Lifesaver a 501 (C) (3) a non-profit organization that bridges the technological gap for “at risk” populations and public safety agencies. We provide police, fire/rescue and other first responders with a comprehensive program including equipment and training to quickly locate and rescue “at risk” individuals with cognitive disorders who are at constant risk to the life threatening behavior of wandering including those with Alzheimer’s disease, Autism, and Down syndrome.

Heckert’s Aunt, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, is enrolled in the Project Lifesaver program. Throughout the course of this racing season his #72 Chevy is decorated with the Project Lifesaver name and logo in order to raise awareness of the Project Lifesaver program.

“We are honored that Scott has chosen to help raise awareness about Project Lifesaver and its mission; “Bringing Loved Ones Home”. Project Lifesaver supports this young man in all his endeavors throughout his career and wish him nothing but the best,” said Project Lifesaver CEO & Founder, Gene Saunders
