Pena and the No. 16 NAPA/Toyota Team Head to Five Flags Speedway

It’s been nearly 60 years since there has been a NASCAR race event at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. In June of 1953, Herb Thomas spoiled a dominant effort by Lee Petty to win a race in the series now known as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at a newly-opened Five Flags Speedway.

Sergio Pena and other young NASCAR Stars of tomorrow along with short track veterans of the K&N Pro Series East will battle at the “Home of the Snowball Derby” for 150 laps as NASCAR racing returns to the Florida Panhandle for the NAPA AUTO PARTS “150” on April 13th.

“The team and I are very excited to race at Five Flags Speedway,” said Pena, driver of the No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota. “It’s a track I’ve never been to but I’ve been watching YouTube videos about it as much as possible to get a good idea of what to expect.”

“I really want to thank NAPA and BMR for having me race at some K&N Pro Series East races aside from the full West schedule so I can get as much seat time this year as possible. I’ve been racing with the East Series guys for three years now so I know what to expect from the competition and I am ready to get a win! Being that it’s the NAPA AUTO PARTS “150” will make it all the sweeter.”

The two day event at Five Flags Speedway featuring the NAPA AUTO PARTS “150” will take place on April 12-13, 2013. For more information on Five Flags Speedway visit www.fiveflagsspeedway.com or call the Five Flags Speedway track office, 850-944-8400.
