Todd Bodine No. 11 Toyota Care Toyota Tundra Atlanta Motor Speedway Advance

Sliding into Atlanta: Two-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Todd Bodine travels to Atlanta Motor Speedway this Saturday for the Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 200 with a wealth of experience at the 1.5-mile oval, including one previous win. Prepared to muscle his way through slick track conditions with his Toyota Care Tundra,Bodine knows that in order to have a chance at a solid finish, he’ll need a well-balanced truck, along with a little luck on his side.Despite another disappointing result for two-time champion Todd Bodine at Bristol last week, the No. 11 Red Horse Racing team went back to work to build another fast Toyota Care Tundra for this weekend’s 200-mile event.

“You can’t look at what’s happened over the past few races if you want to move forward and do well,” Bodine explained. “These Red Horse Racing guys haven’t given up and have performed every week to bring fast Tundras to the race track and that’s all we can do. I know they’ve got another great truck this weekend so hopefully we’ll have luck too.”

Racing for Awareness: Toyota Racing kicked off ‘Racing For Awareness’ last Friday, a friendly competition among women affiliated with the Toyota NASCAR program to design t-shirts that will support breast cancer awareness. Among the participants are two members of the Red Horse Racing family, Janet Bodine, wife of driver Todd Bodine, and Sara Peters, wife of driver Timothy Peters. The winning design will be selected from fan votes and produced during the Charlotte race weekend in October, and Toyota will donate $500 in the name of each participant to Carolina Breast Friends in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Vote at www.toyotaracing.com/RacingForAwareness  now through Oct. 4, 2012 at 12 PM (ET).

Weekend Appearances: Two- Time NCWTS Champion and previous Atlanta Motor Speedway winner Todd Bodine will join teammates Parker Kligerman and Timothy Peters at the Atlanta Motor Speedway Fan Stage on Friday night at 6:45 pm. The drivers will be available to answer questions and greet fans in attendance.

Previous Race Recap:Starting the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series UNOH 200 race day at Bristol Motor Speedway with a convincing practice and qualifying effort, Todd Bodine looked to have put his streak of misfortune in the rear view. After starting the night from the third position, Bodine kept his No. 11 Toyota Care Tundra within the top-five, waiting for the closing laps to make a run for the win. His chance contending for that victory was taken away by another competitor with less than 40 laps to go, as Bodine was sent spinning after contact. With irreparable damage, Bodine finished 31st.

Chassis History:Crew chief Rick Gay and the No. 11 Toyota Care Tundra team have prepared chassis number 85 for “The Onion” to pilot at Atlanta Motor Speedway. In its last on-track appearance, this particular Tundra battled solidly inside the top-10 at Chicagoland Speedway before brushing the wall due to contact from another competitor.
